2020 Polar Plunge to Fight Cancer

Friends and Supporters,

For the 5th year in a row, we'll be participating in the Long Beach Polar Plunge on Sunday, February 2nd, 2020. Although the water temperatures will be just barely above freezing, our Polar Plunge team will fearlessly overcome the cold while banding together for a cause larger than ourselves.

We're 'Plunging' to spread cancer awareness and raise funds for cancer research. Cancer does not discriminate and impacts thousands of people, and their loved ones, each year. That is why we are fighting back. In December 2019, the Ken Pribil Jr. Foundation delivered its largest cancer research grant ever; $18,000, to fund ongoing sarcoma research studies at Memorial Sloan Kettering. This comes just 1 year after the Foundation made a $15,000 grant to Sloan in December 2018. These grants are made possible by you; our Polar Plunge supporters, which have totaled over $17,000 in our first 4 years, in addition to other events hosted by the Foundation.

Donations go to the Ken Pribil Jr. Foundation, a 501c3 tax-exempt nonprofit organization operating in New York state, and are 100% tax deductible. The Foundation was created in memory of Ken Jr., a Rockville Centre, NY native who lost his life to AngioSarcoma cancer at the young age of 19. The Foundation has granted over $40,000 to reputable cancer research institutions and awarded over $20,000 to graduating high school students through its annual Scholarship Award.
