As many of you may know, Alzheimer’s disease took my father on February 28, 2011. This battle was fought with agony over 6 years; my father died at the young age of 65.
Since he was diagnosed with the disease we sadly knew what the outcome would be because it is a fact that once diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, there is NO CURE, there is NO HOPE, there is no way to reverse the damaging process; everyday meant taking a little step towards the inevitable; every day the demand for his care was becoming greater.
Long before his death dad no longer knew who his children were or where he was; he had lost all his short-term and long-term memories. He had always talked about his glorious plan when he would retire; he dreamed with being able to play golf everyday, of course after a quick two-hour workout at the gym.
I will never forget my father, I will not forget his suffering, I can not forget what I went through and my family’s suffering, so in honor of all those memories I established the Mike Sena Memorial Foundation to honor him & help all those who have either died from Alzheimer’s or are presently suffering the horrific consequences of this disease.
The Mike Sena Memorial Foundation will benefit BABA'S BUNCH FOUNDATION whose stated clear mission is "To raise awareness about Alzheimer's, to provide substantive assistance, comprehensive support and education to all families in-need suffering from the horrific consequences resulting from Alzheimer's"..
I am happy to tell you today that the Foundation will be hosting its 9th Annual Mike Sena Memorial Golf Classic at Trump National Doral Miami, Friday November 20, 2020.
Today, I ask you to bring out the best in you and share some of your many blessings with all those who you may not even know but to whom we wish to lessen somehow their heavy burden and agony resulting from attending someone suffering with Alzheimer’s.
Please give us your support either as a sponsor, volunteer, or participant; we can only succeed with your generous cooperation.
