Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the brain and spinal cord.  More than 2.3 million people are affected by MS worldwide.   Recent research indicates that people with MS live an average of about 7 years less than the general population.  Because symptoms come and go, MS is not always easily diagnosed.  The cause of MS still remains unknown and ongoing research continues.  As future Physician Assistants, we will all soon be caring for patients with MS.
