James Young’s mission trip to Haiti

Donation protected
Greetings. I James young will be returning to Haiti this year, ‪from the 6th of June until the 11th‬, with FAIRE garden mission. FAIRE garden is a 501 c3 charity that operates different projects to help the people and children of Haiti. I will be working in the area where FAIRE garden has built the school and will be building the orphanage. This is located in Duval-Roche which is a rural area east of Port-au-Prince. Some of their other projects can be seen at their website www.fairegarden.org. We will be holding a drive for school supplies, specifically heavy-duty backpacks. We will then be personally transporting these items because directly shipping to Haiti is extremely expensive and unreliable. Last year was the school's first full school year with a little over 30 students all starting first grade. Because most of the children know so little of their own personal history, no other schools in the area will take them. For some kids, the only thing they know is their first name.

All money gifted to my campaign will be used for transportation expenses, meals, and lodging. Any money raised above these expenses will be donated directly to the FAIRE garden general fund. At this time, there are future plans to build a facility to accommodate the missionaries and volunteers on the property where the school is and orphanage will be located, to lower the costs of the mission trips. Until this happens, the money spent on meals and lodging is very important, because in order to commit to the cause of rebuilding a devastated economy, the founder of the charity must screen and approve all locations. This ensures that the money put into meals and lodging will be received by partners that have the same mission as FAIRE garden: to strengthen Haiti and its economy, and to better serve the community. On the return trip, we will bring back art that has been made by the Haitian people which will be auctioned off at fundraisers here in the States. Any financial donations would be greatly appreciated. Furthermore, if you would like to donate supplies it is best if they are new or like-new, and I can make arrangements to collect these from you. You can see information from my fundraising and trip last year at gofundme.com/haiti-disaster-reliefrebuilding. I will be updating as we get closer to the travel dates, hopefully, once a week. Thank you to all that donated last year and all considering donations this year. God bless!

FYI: GoFundMe has changed the way they charge fees on donations in the past few months. They now have a section that asks for a “tip” to help them in the operations of the GoFundMe platform. I think there is a minimum amount of 1 dollar to this tip. Please be aware that this money does not go to me, it goes to GoFundMe itself. I feel it is important to support a platform that has done so much good for so many people. I am not discouraging tipping in any way; this is at your personal discretion. I am only making you aware of this as it is not very clear as to which part of the money goes where.
