Faith can move mountains...(Matthew 17:20)
On July 6th, 2018 a very special group of 28 high school youth and 4 adult leaders from the suburbs of Minneapolis, MN will embark on a 10-day mission trip to the Blackfeet Nation Indian Reservation in Heart Butte, Montana. This trip is not sponsored by any church or business. It's a grassroots effort spearheaded by 28 kids determined to spend a week growing in their faith by serving those less fortunate than themselves.
These kids know that on mission trips, things happen. Faith grows. Memories are made. You step outside of your comfort zone, meet new people, and see real hardship. As the week progresses, lives are changed as each child learns about the gifts God has placed in their hearts and they experience the pure joy of sharing their gifts with others.
The fundraising from this page will help make the trip more affordable for each and every child on the trip. We expect to spend approximately $1,500 on gas, $5,000 on van rentals, and about $10,000 will be given to the Youthworks organization who plans the service projects and provides meals and lodging for our group during the time we are in Heart Butte (28 kids + 4 adult chaperones).
- Who is organizing the trip? A group of parents experienced as adult leaders on many previous mission trips, and an organizaiton called Youthworks runs the mission week.
- What do the kids do on this trip? Feed the hungry and homeless in soup kitchens, sort clothes in thrift shops, paint and fix up homes for the disabled and elderly, love on God's children in the "Kid's Club" ministry, cleaning shelters and centers that house people, yard work, and many more activities that serve the community of people that they grow to love during their stay. All work is centered on the premise that we're called to "Love God and Love Others."
Thank you, in advance, for your generous support!
