2019 KETA Medical Mission to Haiti

KETA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides health and educational support to the community of Fond Jean Noel, Haiti and surrounding villages. In this mountain region, most live without electricity, running water, or local access to medical care. We are helping to support a community clinic, with the long-term goal of helping them maintaining it themselves.
In January, 2016, we treated over 350 patients. Some walked as long as 4 hrs to come to the clinic to receive primary medical care. We were able to provide much needed medicine and medical supplies. We taught dental hygiene. We provided school supplies and medical triage to several orphanages. In one that had no food we were able provide children with staples such as rice, beans, corn meal, and oil.
We returned again in January 2017 and focused our energies on the medical clinic in Fond Jean Noel, providing primary care to over 500 patients. The area had sufferred the effects of Catagory 4 Hurricane Matthew in October and had severe food shortages due to loss of crops and livestock. We gave every patient bags of rice, beans and pasta when they left the clinic.
This year we will return with double the number of physicians and nurse practioners, as well as nurses, therapists and volunteers to be able to treat a greater number of patients. We will again donate food and clothing to the local population. We are thankful for the Haitian citizens who work with us every year to make this medical mission possible.
