2018 Emmons Lake OM World Finals

We are the 2018 EMMONS LAKE ELEMENTARY Odyssey of the Mind team.

Odyssey of the Mind (OM) is an international (25+ countries) educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. The 2018 World Finals will be held at Iowa State University in Ames Iowa, on May 23-26.

Over the past six months, our team has worked incredibly hard focusing on problem solving, teamwork and creative thinking. We have met before/after school, over breaks, on weekends, on snow days and even gave up our recess times when things needed to be completed. At the State competition on March 17th our hard work paid off. We finished in 1st place for the Vehicle Division I problem. That advanced our team to the OM World Finals.

With the help from family, friends and people like you, 100% of your donations will help our team offset the costs of this opportunity. These costs consist of team registration and room & board for our team of 8 (7 student members and 1 coach) for this 4 day competition. 

It will be an honor to represent ELE school, Caledonia, Michigan and the USA in this worldwide competition. Please accept our sincerest apprecation and gratitude for donations in any amount.
