Thank you so, so much for visiting my gofundme page! Welcome family, friends, classmates, and colleagues!
I am excited to share that I will be running the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 16, 2018 - a mere TWO MONTHS away!!
As most of you know, this isn't the first time I will be willingly and enthusiastically throwing my body into a challenge -- 13 years of basketball and soccer, 4 years of full-tackle rugby, and 2 summers of hiking 10+ miles each day.
Running a full marathon has been a goal of mine ever since I internalized that my father finished one in his twenties (short shorts, 90s haircut, and all). If he could do it, so could I. I am so incredibly lucky to have been afforded the opportunity this year to wear a bib for the 2018 Boston Marathon and realize this dream.
As my bib is not associated with a specific charity, I will be organizing an individual effort to raise money for a cause I feel so connected to. I am thrilled to be working with the Science Club for Girls, located in Cambridge, MA that is doing truly awesome work promoting STEM education for girls in my community!! It should come as no surprise that the only thing I love more than my friends and family reading this page are rocks. My four years of formal Geoscience education/research and my (nearly!) two year career as a Geologist have so shaped the way that I look at the world and frame involvement in my community. THANK YOU for helping me make a difference and promoting such an important cause for our schools!
So excited to throw my body and heart into training for the next two months. If you are reading this page, thank you for the support, motivation, and drive you give me everyday!!
