2018 Boston Marathon Fundraiser

When I was in middle school I remember making the goal of running a marathon before the age of 25.  Upon graduating college and having played a Division I sport for 4 years I realized I needed something new to strive for, so here I am a year and a half later training for the Boston Marathon.  I am proud and honored that my first marathon gets to be Boston.  This city means so much to me and I truly believe that the people living here are some of the strongest people in the world.

I knew that if I was running this thing I would need something really special to think about for 26.2 miles.  I could not feel more honored to run for the charity Christmas in the City, a charity that I have been involved in since I was a kid.  Each year, Christmas in the City brings holiday magic to thousands of Boston-area kids and their families – kids and families who’ve been experiencing the uncertainty of homelessness and the stress of poverty.  Their annual party for those living in homeless shelters is a spectacular, go-all-out holiday event that allows homeless families to feel truly special and appreciated.  These parents and kids are incredible people that deserve to enjoy a day of happiness and appreciation.

Last year Christmas in the City put on their event for over 4,500 homeless children and parents.  They also were able to "play Santa" to thousands more children in the Boston area who live in poverty.  Christmas in the City continues to provide assistance throughout the year to help families successfully transition from homelessness to independent living.

Please help me spread Christmas spirit to everyone in Boston by donating to my fundraising page.  Any little bit counts for those living in poverty.
