Beasty needs a new hip

Donation protected
Meet Beasty Boy, our handsome 2 year old German Shepherd!  Beasty was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia this week by our veterinarian.  Up until about two months ago, Beasty loved going for walks, playing ball and jumping in and out of the car to go for rides. Now, his favorite things to do have been put on the ‘things to avoid’ list by the veterinarian because it causes too much stress on his hip.  The vet and radiologist  are recommending that Beasty  rest and be less active, to minimize the damage activity will contribute to his failing hip.   This will be a difficult undertaking.   As a result we are hoping to proceed with surgery as soon as funding is available.

Beasty’s temperament is laid back, friendly and lovable making him one of the sweetest German Shepherds one would ever meet.  Aside from his noticeable limp, you would never know he was in pain because he is just so full of life, love and joy every moment of the day! Beasty loves being with his best friend Jasmine, our other German Shepherd. They play, sleep, eat, even chase the chipmunks together! Their love for each other is inseparable and we need him to feel better so he can live the life he is meant to have running around with his best friend!

The reason I am creating this account is to help us pay for his medical expenses we will be accumulating.  So far, between the vet visit,  x-rays and medications, we have spent over $800.  At this time he will need monthly anti-inflammatory medication of about $90 per month. I am hoping to raise $7,000 which should cover most of the expenses for his surgery including post op care and medications.  One of the major reasons we are considering doing the surgery, aside from Beasty being so young with a full life ahead of him, I am fortunate enough that my job allows me to work from home, so I will be able to help care for him after surgery and make sure he is comfortable throughout the day.

Beasty and I want to thank everyone for taking the time to read his story and  appreciate any help you can offer.  We pray for a recovery that will bring him back to the dog he is meant to be!
