Send a PT Student to Peru!

Friends & Family,

As I complete the final coursework toward becoming a physical therapist, I've decided to put the pedal to the metal and see what this baby can do... 

This summer, I'm taking a five week trip to volunteer in a  medical clinic in Cusco, Peru and I ask you to support me in this chance to treat children with disabilities who would otherwise have little or no access to care.

Poverty affects over 50% of the population in Peru, with poor economic policies and extreme inequality making life even harder for low-income families.  Thousands of children live in complete misery with either no parents, or alcoholic ones.

Limited access to food means more than 25% of children under five are extremely malnourished. In remote areas, this number jumps to 70%.  Access to medical care is even more limited, creating an overflow of children with treatable disabilities.

With the help of your generosity, I'll be able to use my new education to treat some of these kids.

The amount I'm asking for would cover food, accomodations with a Peruvian family, and support for the medical project I'll be working on.  It does NOT cover my airfare, or any side trips, or any Pisco Sours I might drink.
