Cure Kittys Cancer

Donation protected
Our cat, cleverly named Kitty has been an important part of our family for over 13 years. She was around for the birth of my children ages 13 and 8, she welcomed them home from their first day of Kindergarten, comforted them at night when they were afraid of the dark, she was always there for them whenever they needed a smile. Over the years, Kitty has grown with us in our journey and we couldn't imagine ever having to say goodbye to her.  Yesterday, we brought Kitty to the vet because my daughter noticed a lump on her underbelly. Unfortunately, we were told that Kitty has an aggressive form of breast cancer. Definitely not what we wanted to hear.  I'm not even sure how to approach my kids with this news, it saddens me. The thought of having to say goodbye to a member of our family and having to explain it to my kids is such a helpless feeling. We initially went to a smaller Vet Clinic for the diagnosis and visited a larger animal hospital for a second opinion. Kitty has multiple mammary gland tumors on her underbelly, mostly small (BB sized) with one being larger (3cm). We elected to have scans done and it was determined that Kitty doesn't have any visible tumors in any of her organs which gives us hope. I know some may say "It's just a cat", but in our eyes she's family and we'd hate to to simply give up on her without making any effort. The Vet Doctor stated that Kitty would have to undergo two separate surgeries. One to remove the mammary glands on her right side then another for the left side. The focus would be removing the larger tumor which is causing her discomfort and could possibly rupture. He also informed me that it would be beneficial for kitty to undergo chemo treatments afterwards but warned that it was a costly process. He estimates that the two surgeries would cost roughly 2k, with chemo treatments for Kitty being upwards of 3k. The news of Kitty, having to tell my children, the quarantine, and me being furloughed from work is a bit overwhelming and makes for a difficult time. Any help is appreciated and if you don't have the means to do so, simply taking the time to read this is appreciated. I'll try to attach the information from the Vet below. Thanks again.
