Empower Girls Stop Gender-based Violence

The Benefits of Fashion is a charitable benefit set up by three senior students currently studying at the American Embassy School, New Delhi.

The main objective of The Benefits of Fashion is to raise funds and awareness for the NGO, New Generation with a focus on making a meaningful response to the tragic death of Amanat, the woman who was subject to the recent Delhi gang-rape and who tragically lost her life as result of the accompanying violent assault. We have teamed up with the NGO New Generation which works with empowering women and girls and is looking for solutions to many pressing issues in India, which include innovative projects in response to the latest tragedy.

The Benefits of Fashion is currently developing a major fund raising event with a showcase of student inspired and designed fashion pieces. We plan to conduct a large-scale fashion parade, auction and sale to promote awareness among several sectors of Delhi's community including the expatriate community. 

The benefit would be held on the 16^th of March at The Australian High Commission, New Delhi, India. Your donation would help immensely. This event will cater to approximately 350 people including members of the expatriate community in New Delhi, many of whom play a significant role in their respective embassies. The funds required to run an event of this status is immense however, my colleagues and I would greatly appreciate any help that you would be willing to offer. Again, this fashion show was set up to achieve a task to not only advocate for change, but also to play an active role in it. The financial assistance such an event could generate for New Generation and for women and children victims would be immediate and enduring.
