FEEDING OUR HEROES

Hello: My name is Shirly Kauffman, I am a resident and a business owner in the city of Coral Springs. I was recently inspired by a woman named Rachel Saltzman Friedland out of Aventura who created a GoFundMe account to raise money to feed first responders and anyone in need. On Sunday, April 11th, I sponsored lunch for over 200 doctors, nurses and anyone else that falls under first responders at Broward Health Hospital located in Coral Springs. This is my way of giving back to thank them all for putting their lives on the line. But because of Rachel, I started this Page to raise money as well for the city of Coral Springs and replicate what she has done for the City of Aventura!! Kudos to her, she has had an amazing response! I wanted to pay it forward and give back to the community. During times like this, we need to come together and help as much as we can to support our community and our neighbors. Coral Springs first responders are hard at work in our local hospitals, fire rescue stations and police departments. They are working tirelessly without many breaks to be able to go get a decent fresh meal.  My goal is to raise as much money to deliver fresh, healthy meals to these amazing hardworking individuals so they can be strong for all who need them.  We are also trying to help our local Coral Springs area restaurants who are struggling as their dinning rooms are closed. Every dollar is being spent with these local restaurants in order to help give them a fighting chance to make it through this incredibly difficult time.   Please find it in your hearts to give to these incredible people who are risking their lives to keep us safe and alive.  We hope to continue delivering meals to all of our heroes over the next weeks with your help.  Please remember to also recognize not only the doctors and nurses but also the ones that clean up, security guards and everyone who works at the hospital, risking their life for us every single day! Talk about true heroes! I received this kind message from the mayor of Coral Springs: As a Father of five, local business owner and a Coral Springs resident since 1997, I want to do whatever I can to help connect people in need with resources. I’m happy to work with Shirly and other business leaders and givers in the community to help others during this crisis.
