Alyvia Rose’s Medical Expenses

My beautiful niece, Alyvia Rose, was born on November 12, 2019. Twelve hours after she was born, we got the devastating news that she was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart defect called Tricuspid Atresia. (We had no clue! We were expecting a perfectly healthy baby.) She was airlifted three hours away from Memorial Hospital in Gulfport to Children’s Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi, for observation. On February 10, 2020, she had her first of two open heart surgeries. We expect her second surgery to take place within the next 1-2 years. 

Alyvia is currently doing amazing! She is absolutely thriving after her first surgery. Her mom has been doing extensive research on the best hospital to take Alyvia to for her second open heart surgery. She and her fiancée agreed Boston’s Children Hospital in Massachusetts would be the best fit. They will be preparing for about a month long visit after her surgery. As you can imagine, the financial burden of this trip and all of the medical expenses associated with Alyvia’s surgery will weigh heavily on her parents’ shoulders.
