My Pregnant Hairless Attacked by another Dog

Donation protected
I have gone back and forth about posting this bc I don't want to be judged by asking bc had already recently reached out for help for one of our other dogs that needed surgery as well. And thankfully had a lot of support Another big vet bill is just so financially devastating. Just trying to do what I can for my family and pets. So I know I can't worry about what others think. This is Jewelz. She's an American hairless terrier. She's a very gentle, sweet, calm and a quiet girl. Unfortunately a dog that we took in broke through our chain link fence dog run and attacked her. Making matters worse, she's pregnant. Him being an unneutered male Pitbull, I can only assume he attacked her due to smelling her pregnancy. All I know is it was an unprovoked attack and extremely devastating. Just worse that we took measures to keep our dogs safe and still failed. Not only is she so small and hairless but also being pregnant.. she was defenseless. Luckily we heard him break through and we ran outback and saved her. She is so calm and sweet.. and it's just so sad and frightening. Thank God she's okay so far, so are the babies. Most of her trauma was done to her chest , back and sides. She hasn't miscarried so we are praying for her life as well as the life of her puppies. She had to have surgery.. stitches and 3 drains. We had to set up a payment plan. She could not get up for days and due to her pregnancy, drugs are limited for pain and care but she is taking antibiotics and tramadol. She is eating and drinking which is a really good sign. Bc the bites were so deep (2in) into back and chest wall.. she's having a hard time putting any weight on front legs. Will need more ultrasounds to ensure babies are okay. Again, I'm devastated over all of this and sad to see her go through all of this and I couldn’t prevent it anymore than we did. Those that know me, know I have rescued hundreds of dogs over the past 10 years and have petsit hundreds more.. and never have I had issues with any of them or my pets until recently. I've always kept strays and rescue dogs separate from my dogs as well as petsit dogs.. so I have never had issues and would never take the risk of them getting hurt. So it's an unfortunate event having a dog break through a chain link fence. It has since been fixed and reinforced. But 2 attacks in such a short period of time is just too much. So I'm no longer active in rescue.. and no more strays. No more parks. And I won't dogsit unfriendly dogs anymore either. Or multiple families. My priority is my dogs, clients and my family. Can't take the risk. Won't take the risk. My dogs and my petsit dogs will remain safe. If anyone can help, even $1.. we are grateful for anything. Even just sharing! We haven't received taxes or stimulus so just been tough. I know money is tight for most right now due to the Panademic so I truly am grateful for any help.
