Help Your J1 Interns

We’re J-1 Interns from the Philippines and we’re based in Houston, TX. Just like every other group of interns, we also got laid off in the middle of our program. We couldn't go home because we're waiting for this pandemic to recede so our host company could call us back. Unfortunately, we can't find any other jobs here since it's against our training plan, so we're having a hard time trying to make ends meet since we’re just using our own savings. We’re waiting because we don't want our effort and our money goes to waste. We paid almost $6645 each for this internship program and we just finished paying it back, that is why we don't have much savings. We're on a No Work, No Pay basis just like everyone else but it's just hard for us since we're all foreign here and can't apply for unemployment. A little will go a long way.
