Shelly and Eric's IVF Fund

Hi! In case you don't know us, we're Eric and Shelly. We met as members of the Marching Jayhawks and Tau Beta Sigma Honorary Service Sorority, fell in love in 2010, and recently celebrated our seventh wedding anniversary. Shelly is an infant teacher's aide at a childcare center and Eric works in affordable housing. We have three adopted fur babies: Ivers, a dilute ginger kitty, Rose, a German Shorthaired Pointer, and our new orange kitty, Angela Lansbury. We have always wanted a human baby as well, and that is why we need your help. We have been trying to conceive since July 2017 and sadly have been unsuccessful. We have undergone a year of fertility treatment, which our medical insurance does not cover. Our doctor at KU Med has found no explanation for our infertility. We are now in the process of beginning IVF, which has an out-of-pocket cost of $15,000 to $20,000.We can cover the initial cost of the first round of IVF through introductory offers on credit cards, which gives us a window of 15 months to raise funds to cover the balances.Our journey to parenthood has been emotionally as well as financially challenging. From the excitement of deciding we're ready as we'll ever be, to that first heartbreaking negative pregnancy test, to every subsequent month becoming more frustrating, we have remained hopeful that we will be parents soon.
