Help Me Research The Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Hello, My name is Bryan P. White, a biologist living in Corvallis, Oregon. As you know, the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19 has rapidly swept across the globe, and is now considered a global pandemic. As a scientist, I believe that I have a moral obligation to protect the community from unforeseen threats of death and disease. The threat of this coronavirus against society is very great indeed. For this reason, I am calling on members of the community, local (Oregon, USA), nationally, or internationally to assist me in developing a research program to combat the spread of the virus.
Briefly, I have been working as a scientist and biologist for over 10 years since my inception as a National Science Foundation (NSF) funded scholar in the highly competitive “Undergraduate Mentoring in Environmental Biology (UMEB)” NSF program. Following completion of this research-training program, I competed bachelors and masters of Science in Biology at California State University, Fullerton. During my time as an undergraduate student, I studied the ecology of Mojave desert rodents and began to take an interest in genetics and computational biology. As a graduate student in Biology, I published several peer-reviewed journal articles on molecular systematics and computational biology, including extensive work on the development of population genetics algorithms for use in environmental monitoring. As a graduate student at National University, I am currently pursuing a Masters of Public Health (MPH) with a focus on public health program development and epidemiology.
I am now, once again, being called upon by community to assist in the global effort for defeating this novel coronavirus. To do that, I will need financial assistance to take time off work (I am a data analyst working at HP here in Corvallis). I am asking for a nominal sum of approximately 1 months salary (~$2,400 USD) to devote time towards conducting a literature review of the coronaviruses and identifying key research elements that others will be able to carry out and advance. While I myself do not have access to a molecular biology lab or clinical setting, I can provide the analytical support that clinicians so desperately need right now. Please help me to provide that support in the best way that I can: Literature review and data analytics.
As an independent researcher, I make the commitment that all work that I publish will always be licensed under the Creative Commons license, meaning all work that I do will permanently available to the public free of charge. I will provide regular updates to the community on the status of my research and will incorporate community feedback as needed.
