Dear loyal coffee, bike, and cocktail lovers,
Working in the food service industry in Chicago is an amazing job thanks to the human connections we make with our customers, distributors and with other industry workers. However, during this public health crisis, the crux of the matter is high-volume in-person sales put us and everyone we come into contact with at risk. Thus, we will not be working during this time to reduce exposure to ourselves and the public. Along with many of our baristas, the entire Heritage kitchen and bike staff are temporarily out of work, as well as the staff of our favorite bar Larry’s.
This is not taken lightly and all non-working staff are taking a financial hit; food service workers don't accrue enough financial buffer to anticipate these unfortunate circumstances. Not many in general do.
This GoFundMe will help support our most vulnerable teammates, made up of 50 Heritage employees (including our baristas, kitchen & bike staff, and Larry's bar staff) as well as provide an alternative option for income for those who are still opting in to work. We are grateful for your support and hope we can return to serving our lovely, Chicagoans soon.
