This quote by Charles Swindoll sums up my endeavor to be who God has created me to be; His disciple. With an ever increasing desire and yearning to answer His call to action, My daughter Makayla and I, along with 14 others, have been given the opportunity to be an extension of God's hands by traveling to Peru for a mission trip on July 11 through July 22, 2013. Our trip is for the purpose of helping to share the love of God all of which builds and restores lives. You may be asking; "why take the risk Katie, why go overseas on a mission trip?" Simply answered, God has blessed me in unimaginable ways and I have come to understand that I am blessed to be a blessing.

Missionaries, Tom & Carol Clark have spent the part 21 years bringing the message of Christ's love to the people pf Chiclayo. In 2005 they started on a new chapter by bringing a practical demonstration of Christ's love by caring for the most vulnerable-the Children! After 19 months of labor and administrative efforts, Morning Star's doors officially opened on October 23, 2006 with the first house and 4 beds. Less than 4 months later, they were not only filled to capacity, but are having to turn down numerous requests from local officials to care for more children. The need is great and they are working to expand the operations to the full plan of 10 "homes." Each home will be capable of housing 8 children along with a set of house parents to care for the children.
We will be helping out on the new homes and helping with the maintenance with the current home. We will be working with the children and visiting local schools.
So, please donate just a few dollars if you can. Every $1 helps!! Regardless of if you are able to donate financially or not, we would greatly appreciate your prayers as we plan for this amazing trip!!
