Nadia Abdullah's Cancer Fund
Dear friends, family and readers of this letter,
This is written on behalf of Nadia who was diagnosed in Sept'12 with Stage 3B Lung Cancer and given a life expectancy of less than 12 months. Being an independent, divorced mother, it was a challenging confrontation but with the help of those around her, she refused to give up. With this letter, we humbly seek your help and support to help her overcome this obstacle.
She underwent re-section surgery on her right lung in October 2012. Even though the surgery itself was without complications, the following petscans showed that the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes. This required her to undergo extensive treatment almost immediately. Until this point, she has had 6 sessions of chemotherapy and has been responding well. The doctors forecast that with 35 sessions of radiotherapy in the next few months, her life can be prolonged and the prognosis is good.
Unfortunately, due to the urgency of her case and late stage diagnosis, she was unable to secure all the funding necessary for treatment. She has exhausted almost all savings on medical support and is unable to fully fund the remainder of her necessary medical care. That's why we are seeking your help, or anyone who would be so kind as to not let this letter pass on by.
While Nadia has only one biological daughter, she is only one of the many 'children' she has gathered over the years. Please help us in raising the funds necessary to keep someone who is loved and cherished by so many people around for as long as we can, and give back the support she has shown so many throughout her life.
