Buster's Blocked Urethra Fund
Donation protected
I brought Buster home just a little over 9 years ago, a few weeks before Britta and I started dating. He has been with us along our entire journey together and we've raised him like a child. He's shy and nervous but once he gets to know you, he is incredibly affectionate. He's my best buddy.
Over the weekend we noticed that Buster was behaving strangely and licking himself constantly. When we woke up on Sunday he was pacing back and forth to the litter box, trying to urinate without success. After finding out that his behavior could be symptomatic of a life threatening blockage in his urethra, we took him to an emergency animal hospital and they confirmed our fears. Without a catheter to clear out the blockage that was preventing him from being able to pee, the toxins in his body would continue to build and his kidneys would soon fail.
After waiting in the examination room for what felt like an eternity, they gave us a breakdown of what it would cost to save Buster's life. Needless to say, neither one of us were prepared for this and there's nothing more heartbreaking than being faced with the reality that we could not afford to save the life of our loved one. Thankfully we qualified for a loan from Care Credit which was just enough to cover the cost of the procedure he desperately needed.
Unfortunately this does not change the fact that Britta and live paycheck to paycheck and the financial burden of this unexpected bill is going to be difficult to pay off. It is not easy for me to swallow my pride and ask for help but if you can spare a few dollars to help us offset the cost of this procedure it would mean everything in the world to Britta and I. I'm sure that Buster would appreciate it as well. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
