1 Love Dog Rescue Is Looking For A New Ranch

Donation protected
My name is Justin Montgomery and I am the owner of 1 love dog rescue. I started this organization seven years ago with the hopes of helping as many dogs find new homes as I could. As a child I went through the foster system and grew up in an abusive family. I struggled my whole life never having my own family and never really having a home to call my own. I moved all over looking for my own forever Family. When I started this rescue I soon realized that all these dogs and all the dogs created in the world were so close to me in relation to what they were going through. I truly wanted to help them find a deserving life so they didn’t have to live the way I did growing up. I have lived on my property for the last six years helping dogs. The owner of the property is a construction company and the landlord was a fellow dog lover and kept our rent low and let us use the 14 acres to do whatever we wanted to help animals. Unfortunately Rob passed away recently and we were left with a new landlord who found financial opportunity in our property and recently gave us a 60 day notice after we complained about repairs that needed to be done on the property. Unfortunately there is no going around that and we are being forced to move our property. Unfortunately the rental situation out there is very different than it used to be and people are not willing to allow animals on most properties. So renting a property is out of the question. I have been working with a couple of different loan officers trying to secure a decent enough loan so that we could buy sufficient property to do what we need to do. To run a dog kennel I would have to have residential agricultural zoned property or farmland. And typically about 10 acres to do so. Right now I’ve only been qualified for a loan for around $300,000. Most of the property in that range has dilapidated housing or not enough land. Ideally I would need a loan for about 500 or 600,000 to get adequate property for my family and for the dogs. Unfortunately my income and my fiancé‘s income is not enough to secure that high of a loan. We would need a cosigner or at least $100,000 down payment to be able to meet that loan requirement. Over the last seven years of running this organization I have helped place close to 6000 dogs into new forever homes. I truly believe that if I had sufficient property of my own where I could build and have the proper tools I could help many many more animals over the next 10 years. I believe that I have many many more years of service available. Asking for donations there’s not some thing that I like to do. Over the last seven years I have relied primarily on adoption fees to run my organization with little to no fundraising campaigns. But right now I am at a crossroads and without a cosigner I am left with only one option. Right now I am left with 40 days before I have to leave my property. I am desperately asking for the publics help to help me help more dogs in the future. With this type of property I would be able to help thousands of shelter dogs in need of forever homes.
