Save my Mam's sight

Donation protected
My Mam has had no sight in her left eye since she was 18, due to a detached retina. She has glaucoma (increased pressure and strain on the eyes) in her right eye, but this was manageable until 2011 when she got a cataract in her right eye. Since then, no surgeon in Ireland has been willing to remove the cataract due to the severity of her circumstances. However, we have found a leading eye surgeon in the UK who is willing to operate on the eye. This would remove the cataract and mean that my Mam will not lose her sight completely. The surgeon has said that he expects a 70-80% success rate. Taking that risk is worth it, as my mam will lose her sight completely if she doesn't get the surgery. Unfortunately, our health insurance will only cover half of the surgery which means we need to fundraise another €2000 so that my Mam can get this surgery ASAP. Her surgeon has outlined that the sooner the surgery happens, the less complications there will be. Myself and my sisters would love if you could donate towards my Mam's life-changing surgery. My Mam being able to see me graduate or see One Direction at their comeback concert would make me happier than you could ever really know. Any donation big or small would help, thank you!!!!! Also, any part of the donations we do not use will go towards a charity helping visually impaired people in Ireland ☺️
