Now that we have gotten through services and the funeral, we are beginning to turn our eyes to finding closure. One of the ways that our family would appreciate being able to move on is to find the driver responsible on Steph’s hit-and-run crash that led to her death. We would like to partner with CrimeStoppers of Central Iowa to offer a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the individual who took Steph from us.

What Happened to Stephanie?
On Thursday, January 30, Stephanie was walking back home to the Delta Gamma sorority house at Drake University, where she serves as their House Director, aka House “Mom”. She was struck by an SUV and the driver fled. Neighbors and students were with Stephanie immediately and provided life saving measures until the EMT’s arrived.
Stephanie was transported to MercyOne and assessed by the Neurology and Trauma teams. She suffered a compound fracture of her right arm, broken ribs and a significant head injury. She was in a coma from the moment of the accident.
After doctors confirmed that Stephanie would never recover from her coma and brain injuries, she was transferred to Mercy Hospice where she died on Wednesday, February 5.
The driver has been identified and police are keeping us updated with the effort to apprehend/locate him. The family would appreciate your financial support in providing an incentive for individuals to come forward and help authorities locate him in order to bring him to justice.
