After an incredible journey in South Africa these past 6 months, I have decided to extended my stay through June 2014. My time in South Africa has been life changing and extremely humbling. My eyes have been opened to a world of beautiful culture, landscapes and mostly importantly beautiful children. Among many things, they need love and I have love to give. Even though there are days when I feel like I am useless, I know that just my presence is enough to make a small difference in life of at least one. Please help me in my mission by supporting me with any funds you are able to give.

Hi, my name is Rachel Noto. I am 26 years old from Birmingham, Alabama. I have spent the last 4 years as a kindergarten teacher. As each year passed, I became more and more interested and eager to serve a more broad range of children. This interest led to lots of prayer and research into how I could serve children over-seas.
Through the good grace of God, I came across a non-profit volunteer organization called VIDES US. This organization sends young adults all over the world as missioners of service as well as missioners of the Lord. After a 2-week formation camp at the beginning of January, I joined VIDES and was given my mission placement: Johannesburg, South Africa! I leave June 1st and plan to return in January. My service will be teaching young children English, tutoring in reading, coordinating afterschool care programs and weekend youth retreats as well as doing any other work that is needed within the community where I will be living.
I am beyond excited and eager to start my mission in June. However, travel expenses are very costly. I have set up this page for those who would like to donate towards my travel efforts and other mission expenses. I plan to keep a blog while I am there to keep everyone "in the loop" with what I am doing and how things are going. I will post the link to that blog at a later date.
