This is the hardest part. We aren't ones to reach out for help. We aren't ones to talk much about the true heart breaking side of this all. Truth is, I don't know what else to do but ask for help. Chandler needs a heart surgery. His heart has progressively gotten worse over the last year and even over the last few months. We all lost our jobs in April due to covid. Which in turn meant we lost our insurance. I have never been without insurance or a job. Ive always been one to carry our insurance and would until Chandler reached age 26. Thats my job as his mom. Heres the kicker.......I was able to get insurance through the care act but only to find out the $800 plus we are spending a month is pointless. You see we knew Chandler would need some kind of of medical intervention in the future as his appointments have gotten to the point of bad news everytime. So we researched and laid out our options for days prior to signing up and making that first payment. Texas Childrens was covered by our New insurance. Yeah think twice. Its NOT! Our 1st cardiology appointment on the new insurance showed its bad news yet again. Our insurance only covers their pharmacy. WHAT!!!!!!!! Oh you can imagine how upset we are to find this out. We are stuck with this insurance with no options to make changes until Jan 1st. Soo we pay for something that the government gains and we lose completely. Care act is a joke! Chandler has Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. He has lived with it since he was 6 months old. His heart disease keeps him from playing sports. As a kid he was taken out of baseball, restricted from pe in school, and put on restrictions of physical activities. The easiest way to explain his heart disease is the ones that pass out and die on a football field etc, typically have a form of Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. In 2008 I was told to enjoy that Christmas because they couldn't guarantee another one. Chandlers heart has done overall well over the past years with just medication. Looking at Chandler you would never guess he had any issues. He is a handsome young man that loves life and loves helping others. Chandler is one of those sweet kiddos that will make sure to reach out to someone sitting alone and give them company. Chandler is a loyal and dedicated hard worker. Chandler is one that hates to worry others so rarely talks about his heart disease. The time has come that surgical intervention is a must. Chandler needs an alcohol ablation performed. They will shave down the heart muscle inside of his left ventricle. He will have a valve and the papillary muscle repaired or replaced also. His muscle inside his heart is now causing obstruction. His obstruction is considered severe and his heart failure risk is high. We see the cardiologist again tomorrow and the surgeon Nov. 11th. Sadly we are up against a wall with the insurance and have no other option but to ask for any help we can get with his medical bills and upcoming surgery. We have a bill from our last cardiology appointment of over $9,000 currently and more to come. I can't imagine what these next several months will cost. I wish I didn't have to even think about it. But like most everyone else we are all unemployed, lacking good insurance, and need some help. All funds recieved will go directly to his medical bills. We greatly appreciate all your help. We welcome every prayer you can offer us!
