Joshua's Journey To Save His Sight

Hi my name is Joshua I'm 3 years old and I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called bilateral retinoblastoma. I began receiving treatment at 1year old at Children's Hospital in St Louis Missouri. I received IV chemo, laser treatments, cryotherapy treatments, and had multiple surgeries within the nine months I was being treated there. A month later they removed my left eye due to the tumor sitting on a nerve that had the potential to spread to the rest of my body. A few months after that the cancer had come back to my right eye and the doctors wanted to remove it but there was another type of chemo treatment being done at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville where they go through the artery in the groin. We started traveling to Nashville every 3 weeks for treatment. The chemo went well but after two years of treatments my eye is slowly deteriorating. The retina is detaching and the muscles are pulling causing blood to pool in my eye. Due to this, the doctors are not able to see if I have active tumors in my eye and if they could it would be too late for me. I still have vision in my right eye and love watching Sesame Street. Just like me, my parents are fighters and refuse to give up. We have been referred to the best cancer hospital which is in Houston, Texas, but because I'm on Missouri Medicaid they do not accept my insurance and all costs for all services will be out of pocket. We are still not sure how long we will need to be in Houston so we need funds for medical bills, lodging, fuel, and amenities. Anything will be greatly appreciated as we have been so thankful for the continued support since my diagnosis. God bless. My journey continues.
