Save Ye Merrie Greenwood Renaissance Faire

Hey there. I’m Steve Lee. Today i saw the Tri-City Herald publish an article about the ren faire getting cancelled because of increases in costs including a non-recoverable $30,000 they might incur in the off chance that they are hit with extreme weather and have to cancel the event. The link is here. https://www.tri-cityherald.com/news/local/article239756938.html First thing: This event has been around almost my whole life. -It brings families together. -It gives kids a chance to experience some magic in their home town. -It gives fun uncles a chance to buy swords for their nieces and nephews. -It draws people outside, and away from their screens. -It even brings people in from other towns that have even less to do than us. -The Ye Merrie Greenwood Renaissance Faire is a part of our town’s story. -It is worth saving. 2nd thing: We have all heard or been the one to say, “There’s nothing to do in this town.” THIS IS LITERALLY SOMETHING TO DO and we can probably save it. This is the chance for us to put our money where our mouth is save an honest to goodness piece of our town’s culture. Here’s the thing. I don’t run the Faire. But I’m still trying to save it. My goal is to raise 40k as a reserve in case the event gets cancelled due to extreme weather. If Mother Nature is kind and the event is a go, then they will have a great head start for next year’s event. I’m sure we’d be able to work out some sort of sponsorship signage at entry or exit that could recognize any businesses or individuals involved in this endeavor. So here’s what I need. 15-20 companies to chip in at $500-$1000 each. 1-2 companies to really save the day and throw down at 3-5k. 1 company to come in big at 10k. Lastly we need this bad boy to go Tri-Cities Viral and raise any remaining amount in smaller individual donations. Share the heck outta this and Toss a coin to your Ren Faire.
