One Man. One Leg. Running 10k To Help Veterans.

One man. One leg. Running a 10k on the 10th of April 2020 to raise awareness and funds for Phoenix Heroes - a small charity which does incredible and much needed work in helping homeless military veterans suffering with PTSD. I started to learn to run again in December 2019. A gift to myself for achieving nine and a half years of sobriety. Alcohol almost killed me. I drank because I myself suffered with PTSD as a result of witnessing murder as a boy and then losing my leg in a car crash aged 20. Alcohol was my crutch in coping with past traumas. I'm gratefully in recovery now and 2020 will see me ten years sober. To celebrate this ten - I'm attempting to run an official 10k on the 10th of April 2020 on the grounds of Westonbirt House in Tetbury. I'm running for myself. I'm running for Phoenix Heroes. I'm running to help homeless military veterans suffering with PTSD. Please donate whatever you can afford. Your donation will go straight to helping men and women who once served our country - but who now find themselves lost and alone. I will run this 10k to help them. Thank you. John x
