Ireland is now dominated by 17 billionaires, with the top ten alone holding €31 billion. This includes tax-dodgers, super-exploiters and beneficiaries of state contracts. This is the legacy of Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil governments, who protect the profits of these economic elites.
I want a fundamentally different Ireland. To end the housing & homelessness crises; to seriously address climate change; to properly fund physical and mental healthcare services; and to guarantee free childcare and a €15 minimum wage, we can't rely on funding from landlords and billionaires.
A movement for real change, that is always independent from the interests of landlords and billionaires, can only be funded by people like you - workers, women and young people, who need a voice inside the Dáil, consistently challenging corruption and cronyism, exposing all forms of inequality and championing social movements and trade union struggles.
As a TD I've fought evictions, the closure of community centres and A&E departments. I have pressured the council to develop land at Damastown, which could provide hundreds of homes. I have stood alongside workers at Tesco, Lloyds, Dublin Bus & Bus Éireann, school secretaries and health workers. I've played a key role in fighting for Repeal and pro-choice legislation and for LGBTQ+ rights and recognition. I initiated a ban on fur farming and am standing firm against the greyhound racing industry and blood sports.
