Hope For Nan Futsal Classic

Hello everyone, it’s that time of the year again!!!!This February 15-16 the Hope For Nan Futsal Classic is back. This event is a small sided soccer tournament that is being put on by Xcel Soccer. Proceeds benefit The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center and the Preuss Laboratory for Brain Tumor Research at Duke University Medical Center of Durham, NC. By participating in this soccer tournament, we are raising money for research to help better understand and prepare against brain tumors. The Hope for Nan Futsal Classic has been created to honor the memory of Nan May. Nan lost her life in a battle with a brain tumor in 2018. Nan was a loving mother, wife, and one of the most amazing people I have had the pleasure of meeting. I knew her as the mom of my good friend Rob May. The Hope for Nan Futsal Classic was created by Rob for his mom. One of the many connections I share with Rob is our love for soccer, and I am honored to use the sport that made us such good friends as a means to support him and his family. There is little known about the causes for brain tumors and early detection. By my participating in this event, I want to help another family avoid losing a loved one as Rob lost his. My goal is to raise $2,000. That can be 20 people donating $100 or 80 people donating $25. I know everyone can’t donate $100 but every penny helps. Please do what you can today. No one should lose their mom the way Rob lost his. I can’t change this horrible loss, but together we can help someone else from going through the same. The money will be going to The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center and the Preuss Laboratory for Brain Tumor Research at Duke University Medical Center of Durham, NC. The Duke Brain Tumor Center is a world leader in laboratory and clinical research, and always has their patients as their prime focus. The folks at The Duke Brain Tumor Center helped during Nan’s fight and took great care of her. Help me to raise money for future families who will need the same support and care as Nan received. Please join us in our fight against this devastating disease! I know we can come together to reach this goal in a month and a half. While everyone may not be able to play in this tournament, through this GoFundMe, everyone can be on our team. Even if you do not play soccer or cannot make the tournament, we want you on our team. Please- give what you can, and a big Thank You to those who want to give a little extra. Feel free to share this GoFundMe link with anyone you may know who might be willing to join our team and help us in reaching this goal. For tournament info/registration or any questions feel free to DM me or go to http://abasasoccer.bonzidev.com/futsal Huge thank you to everyone in advance, last year we were able to raise over $1,300 and I know we can beat that number this year!!!
