The Bonwin's Family Mission Trip to Liberia

My Name is Isaac Bonwin from the Grace United Methodist Church of Lynn, Massachusetts. On July 1, 2019 my wife, Mayo Bonwin and three of our children, Yarday Bonwin, Yeatoe Bonwin and Dehcontee Bonwin left the U.S.A. for a month mission trip to work with 55 kids at the children's Village Light House Ministry in Buchanan, Liberia. 90% of the cost of our mission trip was covered by our own family resources and 10 % from our church, The Grace United Methodist Church of Lynn, MA. During our time at the children's home, we heard many sad stories about how the kids ended up at the orphanage home. Majority of the kids lost their parents to the 2014 Ebola outbreak in Liberia, some were abandoned on the Monrovia-Liberia highway and taken to the children home by police, some were abandoned on the doorsteps of the orphanage while others lost their mothers during childbirth. The babies and dead mothers were left at the hospital with no family member to claim them. The kids have so many sad stories to be told.

Thanks to Bishop Grigsby and Mother Grigsby for loving and caring for these children with no consistent income. Mother Grigsby said to us "we have no income, no food pantry, but God is still on his throne, we are blessed everyday with little food to eat". Mother Grigsby also said "We depend on God day by day for miracles". The children's home has no vehicle to transport them to and from school daily. They are transported by means of what is known in Liberia as pen-pen (bike circles) raining or shining with no safety, often resulting in accidents, sending the kids into hospitals for days, sometimes weeks.

During our meetings, our team and Bishop Grigsby recognized the safety and educational needs of the children were critical. We therefore agreed and launch an eight classrooms project on the compound of the orphanage home for the kids. The project has already begun but we cannot do this alone, we need your help. We are asking for your help, to help us help these kids. Let's put smile on their faces. They need us more than ever before looking at the present financial condition in Liberia. Please help us with any amount you can. Please watch the short video attached, photos and read these verses: Hebrew 13:16, Luke 6:38, Matthew 25:40, John 14:18, and Jeremiah 49:11. Please, we need your help
