ISLP Nursing Delegation 2020

Howdy, and thank you for taking the time or interest in reading the following. My name is Dean and I am a 20 year old nursing student attempting to raise money for a once in a lifetime opportunity. Through an honor society I was inducted into, Phi Theta Kappa, I was given the opportunity to partake in an academic trip to Sydney and Brisbane in Australia in which I will experience and learn about aboriginal health and medicine, experience the unique clinical setting Australia offers, and gain guidance in navigating my own personal career plans in nursing. I am currently an EMT working in South Jersey and a nursing student expecting to graduate with my RN in the spring of 2021. My interest in nursing comes from my mother’s career path as an EMT and a personal experience in being Type 1 Diabetic since my senior year of high school. I work on learning as much as I can about healthcare and strive to be a competent nurse practitioner one day. I need help in raising money to be able to afford to go on this delegation as the cost is high and my family and I already have a difficult time affording college and my diabetic needs. However, this delegation would offer me life/clinical experience, help me in future career endeavors, and aid in making me the best nurse I can be.
