Fight Like Ryker

Ryker James Turpin decided to come into the world about 5 weeks early. He was Born on Dec 27th. 5lbs 5oz and 17.5 inches long. Ryker spent his first couple days at IU Health. He had a hole in one lung, the other collapsed. The Drs put a tube in his chest and placed him on a vent. The issues unfortunately didn’t stop there. Due to a low blood count they looked around for a possible bleed. Unfortunately one was found on his brain. At that point it was decided that he should be transferred to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. It seems he takes two steps forward then two steps back. Fortunately his brain bleed has stopped. The Drs feel his mental capacity hasn’t been affected but they are fairly confident there are going to be some physical issues along his right side. There are some other possible issues they are still looking into such as a possible blood disorder. The upper lobe of his right lung is still trying to collapse and they are running more tests to look at other areas. His momma, is staying with him, while daddy, is staying home with his two older siblings Cayden and Maddie. Unfortunately Daddy has a cold and has not been allowed to visit Ryker since birth. However as soon as he is symptom free, he will be making frequent trips to Indy from Bloomington. To help with the request for info on donations I have created this page. At this point we have no idea what kind of expenses are going to be incurred during Ryker’s battle, but we do know that anything will help!
