Jerry's journey is about my uncles journey in his fight against cancer.  He was originally diagnosed and has been fighting since January 2019,  when it was first discovered. He had surgery in February of 2019 to remove 30% of his liver(containing a tumor). He began chemotherapy shortly thereafter, until about June. The repeat scans showed it was clear as far as the liver was concerned. Just a couple of months later, he began having some back pain and made an appointment. Scans were done for his lower back pain. And it was discovered that it had come back, along with a T3, (upper spine) tumor.  Upon these findings, for the first time, he was told that the the cancer in the liver, was a result of Metastatic Gallbladder Cancer. (Update on that diagnosis below)  
His doctor at this point, left him with no hope and a prognosis of 3-4 months. (Also an update on this below) Late spring early summer. He basically gave up on him.
I speak for the family when I say, that was not going to fly with us.
My first call, was to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Atlanta, around 11:30pm on a Saturday night. I recieved a call back the very next day to give more information and was told someone would call me on Mondsy morning.  The call did come on Monday and from there, Jerry and I both were making contact with someone daily. Within a weeks time, we went from phone calls to, Uncle Jerry, myself, mom and dad arriving at CTCA, Atlanta on December 23, 2019. One week from the first phone call placed. #amazing
They are the only ones giving any hope. We are grateful for how amazing they have been thus far and for how quickly they got him in to undergo treatment and become a CTCA patient.  He already had an entire team of clinicians ready to go upon his arrival. Uncle Jerry is determined and ready to fight! His faith is strong and he has a huge support system. This is JERRY'S  JOURNEY AND WE INVITE YOU ALONG WITH US.
We would first like to ask for prayers through this process. I am starting this page because as you can imagine, there have been and will continue to be expenses to come. Medications, co-insurances, traveling back and forth to Atlanta, household expenses, that of course will still be accumulating.  If anyone would like to help financially, it would be so appreciated.
