High School Fishing National Championship

Donation protected
My name is Dylan Fogarty, Mechanicsburg, PA

Competitive fishing is my passion, my partner, Jacob Vanscoik and I are seeking funding to sponsor our journey to the pinnacle in High School Fishing the 11th annual High School Fishing World Finals & National Championships.

La Crosse, Wisconsin will serve as the host community to the High School Fishing World Finals & National Championship developed by the Student Angler Federation. The tournament will be held June 23-27, 2020. Approximately 400 high school fishing teams from across the country will be competing for huge prizes such as college scholarships.

Funds raised will be extremely helpful for my partner and I as we get ready to make this trip. All monetary donations gathered will go directly towards fueling this trip. We will be spending close to a week practicing and competing for the tournament and fueling our boat, truck and bodies.  Additionally, the hotel cost will serve as a huge obstacle without the necessary funds.  Any funds in excess of our $5,000 goal or unspent funds will be split between future tuition and the local youth fishing clubs in central PA.

We prefer all funds be donated by the end of April.

Thank you for your donation,

While I am honored to have been selected as one of the 2019 Bassmaster High School All-American team, I thought the following recommendation letter from the Cumberland Valley High School's Bass Fishing Team Advisor would help give you some insight into the person you will be supporting:

I met Dylan when he was a freshman looking for an advisor for a Bass Fishing Club.  I’ve never met a person, young or old with the passion for bass fishing that Dylan has.  He was excited and prepared to start a Bass Fishing Club at our High School.  Dylan took the initiative, and on his own created the club we have today.  The club is now home to students who fish in tournaments, fish for fun, and students who don’t fish much but have a safe and welcoming place to hang out with friends.  I have had the privilege to advise the club for the last 3 years.  It is wonderful to see a young angler like Dylan grow into the conservation minded, dedicated, and fun loving fisherman he is today.

Dylan’s accomplishments are many in regards to Bass Fishing, conservationism, and being a steward in his community. For the fishing aspect Dylan has won his Junior Club Angler the last three years, he has fished in local tournaments, head to head High School tournaments, and BASS and FLW sponsored tournaments through the northeast. Dylan encourages and mentors other club members and younger students alike in tournament fishing. Dylan is a conservationist, he has just finished his Eagle Scout project improving access and minimizing bank erosion on the Conodoguinet Creek. He has participated on my creek clean-ups in and around the area, and helped to create a clean-up event for our club to participate in. Dylan is a steward in his community, he promotes youth fishing through Boy Scouts, he volunteers his time each summer for a week long Cub Scout camp, teaching conservation, knot tying, fish identification, and fishing techniques. Dylan volunteers with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for their annual fishing derby. Honestly Dylan’s life revolves around fishing, but not in a selfish manner.

Again thank you and we hope that we can count on you to help us make it to the 2020 High School Fishing World Finals & National Championships
