Help Matt McIntyre Beat Leukemia

Matt McIntyre has leukemia. He and his family need your help. We are writing you because you know the McIntyres. You probably know that they are proud people and are reluctant to ask for assistance. As their experience has humbled them, they have learned to accept God's gifts that come though all of us.

Until early December, Matt was like most of us.  He was a healthy 37 year-old with a job and a family (four children ages 8, 5, 3, and 1).  Then he got what he thought was the flu.  Within days he was so weak that he practically had to be carried to the doctor's office.  He was moved from there to the ER, and from the ER to Emory Hospital.  He was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and is now fighting for his life.  He spent six weeks in the hospital and is likely to need about six months for chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant.

The Mcintyres are lucky enough to have good health insurance that will cover a lot of the medical bills.  But, since Matt can't work during his treatment, they will have too little income and too many expenses very soon.  They need help to pay for medical deductibles that will span two calendar years, as well as basic living expenses and funds for the childcare needed so that Ruth, Matt's wife, can coordinate all of Matt's medical care.
