Richie’s 5th Annual Layaway Angels!

I want to thank each and every person for their kind donations and continued support for the last 4 years of “Richie’s Layaway Angels!” The love you have shown in honor of Richie’s memory, to help those in need at Christmas time is indeed overwhelming! I truly cannot believe that it has been 6 years since we lost our beloved son. Although Christmas is one of the hardest times of the year without him, “Richie’s Layaway Angels” has been a wonderful way to honor Richie’s memory by helping some families take care of their Christmas layaway! The kindness and generosity you have shown has made a difference in many lives over the past 4 years!We have had the privilege of sharing your gifts on the weekend before Christmas at a local layaway department to unsuspecting parents by paying the remaining balance on their layaway! It is truly humbling to see the gratitude of some of the parents we have met who have shared that the extra money will allow them to buy groceries or pay a bill that they were using to get their child’s Christmas layaway. We do not meet all of the recipients but the store clerks have always been eager to help find the layaways that are primarily toys and in some cases layaways that are due to be put back on the shelf for non-payment. They have shared stories with us that some families were going to have to come in and refund their layaway to put food on the table and their children would have otherwise not had a Christmas. We usually take care of the layaways of people picking up while we are in the store and have an opportunity to speak with them and tell them about the many who donate to “Richie’s Layaway Angels” in hope to help another family in honor of our son’s memory. There have even been a few instances that some of the recipients then also paid it forward by making a donation to help another family in need! Remember no donation is too small!! Together we can make a difference and show the true spirit of Christmas while keeping Richie’s memory alive! Richie’s 5th Annual Layaway Angels begins! 20 days and counting!!! ❤️
