Hurricane Sandy Relief

Donation protected

My Name is Greg Laplaca. I am a Potter / business owner from the Jersey Shore trying to recover and get back going after Hurricane Sandy.

Unfortunately My insurance company is denying any responsibility to cover my business, and all the federal Government offered is what they call a low interest SBA loan at a 6% interest rate. ( about 2 points higher than a regular loan)

The lucky thing for me is the main damage I had was water in my shop. The damage was minor, and my pottery was spared,  but unfortunately the boardwalk was damaged and condemned. I am still not back up and running and not sure when that will be. The City of Asbury Park is working on the Boardwalk, but It looks like springtime before we can get back in the store . This storm put me out of work since it hit in October . As a business owner  I am self employed and therefore not entitled to unemployment benefits. I just closed down my Point Pleasant location so my Asbury Park store is all I have. If you are looking for a grass roots way to help Hurricane Sandy victims ...here it is. Not another scam that nobody knows where the money goes. Anything you donate will be used to help me get my business back up and running and in order for the upcoming summer season.
