30 Day Fundraiser: A Benefit For Asylum Seekers
Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends,
This holiday season I’m raising funds for two hardworking organizations on the frontline of human rights advocacy. Al Otro Lado is a bi-national, social justice legal services organization combining direct aid with wider advocacy in order to serve indigent deportees, migrants, and refugees in Tijuana, Mexico. Border Kindness is an organization responding to the immediate needs of migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers along the Mexicali/Calexico border. Please read below to learn more about the work and impact of these orgs.

Other Ways to Help
Al Otro Lado
https://alotrolado.org/volunteer/
Al Otro Lado welcomes volunteer attorneys, doctors, mental health professionals, tech professionals, social workers, and any other individual who is passionate about immigrant rights! Al Otro Lado has regular volunteer opportunities in Tijuana, at the Otay Mesa Detention Facility in San Diego, and in the Los Angeles area. We also welcome volunteers who can assist remotely with case support, translations, and other tasks. We ask all volunteers complete our volunteer application.
Border Kindness
https://borderkindness.org/how-you-can-help/
Border Kindness accepts donations of clothing, blankets and unopened personal care items; however, by far the most efficient method of helping is by making a financial donation. Your donation will be used to purchase nutritious food and the items (and services) most needed and to help the most vulnerable.
Why the Random #? The goal is 3K split between the orgs. The additional $$$ is to cover the estimated 3% + $0.30 per transaction cost of raising funds through GoFundMe.
