Samet arrived in the UK almost 4 years ago on the back of a lorry having been trafficked to the UK. At 11 years old he was forced by his father to support his family by begging. Any day that he did not make enough he would be beaten. Like many young Albanians he was brought here by traffickers but as yet is unable to describe the horrors that he has faced. Despite being diagnosed with severe levels of PTSD and becoming a very loved member of my family Samet on reaching 18 was denied the right to stay here and then lost his appeal against the decision. He is a very scared young man who is learning to be a carpenter but faces having all his hopes and dreams and his loving new family taken away from him. If sent back to Albania he will have nobody and no support network of any kind. The alternative for him is like many others to run away and live on the shadows of our society where his vulnerability will make him an easy target for gangs. I started a petition on Change.org which so far has over 400,000 signatures. I hope that the Home Office will change their mind and am also trying through the courts to appeal the decision. I hope to raise as much as possible through this fundraiser as the costs involved in fighting this case just add to the pressure on me and my family. Thank you for your help.
