"Torna in Ucraina perché se muori qui ci sono da pagare le spese per il trasferimento della salma".
Queste sono state le parole che i medici della clinica di Brno, in Repubblica Ceca, le hanno rivolto mentre veniva dimessa, dandole un'aspettativa di vita che non superava il mese.
Parole dure, capaci di gettare nella disperazione la maggior parte di noi ma che non sono riuscite a togliere il sorriso a Natalia Matliak, ventotto anni compiuti in febbraio e orgogliosa mamma di una splendida bambina di nove anni.

Si trovava là non per sua scelta.
Pur di raccimolare qualcosa e provvedere al sostentamento della mamma, del fratello e della sua bambina Camilla, aveva infatti accettato un lavoro che la vedeva costretta a vivere lontano dai suoi cari.
Poi, a giugno, era iniziato l'incubo.
Un esame del sangue aveva evidenziato la presenza di una leucemia mieloide acuta, diagnosi poi confermata dalla biopsia.
Gli ultimi 4 mesi li aveva trascorsi in ospedale dove era stata sottoposta a tre cicli di chemioterapia che, oltre ad averle causato complicazioni importanti, si sono rivelati del tutto inefficaci.
Purtroppo la sua leucemia si è dimostrata del tipo refrattario a tutte le terapie standard.

Ora è tornata a casa, consapevole che, senza nessuna cura, le resti molto poco da vivere.
Questo fatto tuttavia non le ha impedito il 12 novembre scorso di convolare a nozze con l'uomo della sua vita.
Nè ha smorzato quel suo straordinario spirito combattivo che la contraddistingue, abituata fin da piccola a fronteggiare le avversità (in quanto orfana di padre a soli dodici anni), a misurarsi con la sofferenza, a convivere con le ristrettezze economiche ma soprattutto a contagiare le persone intorno a lei con una ventata di allegria e di sano ottimismo.
Il tutto sormontato da una fede in Dio incrollabile.




L' unica speranza che, al momento, Natalia ha di sopravvivere, è quella di sottoporsi all'immunoterapia, che comporta un costosissimo ciclo di cure peraltro non disponibili nel suo Paese.

Abbiamo preso contatto con diversi ospedali italiani e centri di ematologia specializzati.
Le strutture interpellate si sono dichiarate pronte a ricoverarla per iniziare così la terapia.

Natalia è entusiasta di partire, convinta di potercela fare e di poter così veder crescere la sua bambina.

Rimane il problema delle spese mediche, non coperte dal servizio sanitario nazionale in quanto non cittadina italiana.

Secondo una stima fatta dai medici, e per nulla definitiva, il costo del solo trapianto si aggira intorno ai 150.000 euro a cui vanno aggiunti 4500 euro circa per i tre cicli di terapia previsti.

Al fine di coprire tali spese abbiamo organizzato una campagna di raccolta fondi tramite la quale tutti coloro che lo vorranno, potranno dare un contributo anche minimo.

Ringraziamo di cuore l'associazione AIL che intanto si è gentilmente offerta sia di mettere a disposizione un alloggio per i parenti, che di coprire le spese "vive" (biglietti aerei, taxi, pasti, etc...).

Come per tutti i casi simili, il tempo non è dalla nostra parte.
Se vogliamo salvare Natalia dobbiamo agire subito, donando ciascuno secondo le proprie possibilità e il proprio sentire.

Stiamo parlando della vita di una giovane mamma che nel suo piccolo non ha mai smesso di provvedere alle altrui necessità, neppure adesso, nonostante la severità della sua malattia.

Sarà nostra premura tenervi costantemente informati sullo stato delle cure e, nel caso in cui le donazioni superassero le spese, devolvere la cifra rimanente per la lotta contro questa terribile malattia.

"Go back to Ukraine because here if you die, you will have to pay for the transfer of your corpse".
These were the words that the doctors of the Brno clinic, in Czech Republic, addressed to her as she was being discharged, giving her a life expectancy of not exceeding a month.
Harsh words, capable of throwing most of us into despiration but those words did not succeed in removing Natalia Matliak's smile, twenty-eight years old on February and a proud mother of a splendid nine-year-old girl.

She was in Czech Republic which is far from her family and loveones not by choice but in order to collect some money to support her mother, her brother and her daughter Camilla.
Then in June, the nightmare had begun.
A blood test showed the presence of an acute myeloid leukemia, a diagnosis later confirmed by biopsy.
The last 4 months she had spent in the hospital where she had undergone three cycles of chemotherapy which in addition to causing important complications, proved to be completely ineffective.
Unfortunately, her leukemia has been shown to be refractory to all standard therapies.

Now she is back home, and aware that without any cure, she has very little time to live.
However, this fact did not prevent her from getting married to the man of her life on November 12.
Nor has it dampened her extraordinary fighting spirit that is inherent to her. In which, since in her childhood, she was capable to face adversity in life (as a father orphan at the age of twelve), to resist from sufferings, to live with economic hardship but above all to spread and show to people around her a breath of joy and healthy optimism, filled by an unshakeable faith in God.

The only hope at the moment that Natalia has to survive, is to undergo immunotherapy, which involves an extremely expensive cycle of treatments which are not available in her country.

We have contacted several Italian hospitals specialized in hematology centers.
Thus, the institution told that they are ready to hospitalize her in order to start the therapy as soon as she arrive in Italy.

Natalia is very eager to leave and very much convinced that she can survive and therefore, could see her child grow up.

But despite of all, the problem of medical expenses remains. Considering that she is not covered by the national health service as she was not an Italian citizen.

According to an estimation made by the doctors, the cost of transplantation of bone marrow alone is around 150,000€ and about 4500€ in addition, for the three cycles of therapy.

In order to cover these expenses, we have organized a fundraising campaign through which all those who wish to do so can also make a minimal contribution.

We sincerely thank the AIL association, which has kindly offered both to provide accommodation for relatives and to cover "living" expenses (air tickets, taxis, meals, etc ...).

As in similar cases, time is not in our side.
If we want to save Natalia we must act immediately, contributing freely according to everyone possibilities and feelings.

We are talking about the life of a young mother whom in her own small way, has never stopped providing for other people's needs, even now, despite of the severity of her illness.

It will be our pleasure to keep you constantly informed about her health status and, in the event that the donations exceed the expenses, we devote the remaining amount to the fight against this terrible disease.

“Повертайтеся в Україну, тому що якщо ви помрете тут, вам доведеться заплатити за перевезення тіла” сказали їй, лікарі клініки Брно в Чехії, після виписки, додавши вона що не проживе більше місяця.
Жорстокі слова, здатні кинути більшість з нас у відчай, але посмішка не зникла з лиця, Наталії Матляк, 28 річної дівчини, гордої матері, прекрасної дев'ятирічної дівчинки.
Наталія була змушена вибрати роботу далеко від близьких, щоб забезпечувати матір, брата та дочку Каміллу.
Потім у червні розпочався кошмар.
Аналіз крові показав наявність гострого мієлоїдного лейкозу, діагноз, підтверджений пізніше біопсією.
Останні 4 місяці вона провела у лікарні, де пройшла три курси хіміотерапії, що, крім спричинення важких ускладнень, виявилися абсолютно неефективними.
На жаль, її тип лейкемії виявився рефрактерною до всіх стандартних методів терапії.
Зараз вона повернулася додому, усвідомлюючи, що без будь-якої турботи їй залишилося дуже мало жити.
Незважаючи на важкий діагноз Наталія одружилася з чоловіком її життя 12 листопада.
Важкий стан також не пригнітив її надзвичайний бойовий дух, який з дитинства допомагає їй боротися зі стражданнями, з економічними труднощами, але перш за все заряджати людей навколо себе радістю та любов‘ю.
Всі біди Наталія долає непохитною вірою в Бога.

На даний момент Наталії доводиться виживати, єдина надія - це пройти імунотерапію, яка передбачає надзвичайно дорогий цикл лікування, який недоступний у її країні.

Ми звернулися до кількох італійських лікарень та спеціалізованих гематологічних центрів.
Вони заявили про готовність її госпіталізувати для початку терапії.

Наталія в захваті від від'їзду, переконана, що може це зробити і побачити, як дитина виростає.

Проблема медичних витрат залишається не покритою національною службою охорони здоров'я, оскільки вона не є громадянинкою Італії.

За підрахунками, зробленими лікарями, але ніяк не остаточними, вартість трансплантації сама по собі становить близько 150 000 євро, до яких потрібно додати близько 4500 євро за три передбачені цикли терапії.

Для покриття цих витрат ми організували кампанію зі збору коштів, завдяки якій всі бажаючі можуть також зробити мінімальний внесок.

Ми щиро дякуємо асоціації AIL, яка люб’язно запропонувала забезпечити житло для родичів, та покрити витрати на проживання (авіа квитки, таксі, харчування тощо).

Як і у всіх подібних випадках, час не на нашому боці.
Якщо ми хочемо врятувати Наталію, ми повинні діяти негайно.

Ми говоримо про життя молодої матері, яка, по-своєму, ніколи не припиняла турбуватися про потреби інших людей, навіть зараз, незважаючи на тяжкість хвороби.

Ми будемо раді постійно інформувати вас про стан здоров‘я Наталії та, якщо пожертви на боротьбу з цією страшною хворобою, будуть перевищувати витрати.
