Chloe is a twin, but her sister Phoebe passed away at 30 weeks gestation therefore they were born 10 weeks early. Chloe weighed just 2.6 pounds, she was born pale and floppy with no signs of life. Thankfully she was revived but had suffered a significant brain injury. Just six days after she was born at Worcestershire Royal hospital, Chloe was rushed in the middle of the night to Bristol Royal hospital for children for emergency surgery on a perforated bowel. Chloe was in Bristol for 8 weeks at St. Michael’s hospital for special care within the neonatal intensive care unit before returning to Worcester while her continuing care was put into place. Chloe was diagnosed with quadriplegic cerebral palsy and global development delay at the age of one and is now approaching 4 years old. Chloe has input from many different professionals including physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, occupation therapists and neurologists. We as a family have been inputting these various therapies into our daily life as we attempt to help Chloe thrive, not just survive. We are so fortunate and grateful to have had the fantastic support of our family and friends during this rollercoaster of a time we have been through over the last 4 years. We really couldn’t have done it without you all. Chloe is doing really well but we kindly ask for your support to enable her to have every opportunity to flourish. She is currently unable to walk and talk but communication isn’t out of the question with the right equipment. Chloe has shown promising signs that communication could be possible through equipment she uses at school and we would ask for your support to have the opportunity to have this equipment at home for Chloe too. This could unlock communication with chloe and maybe even movement via a wheelchair at some point in the future. Thank you for any support you can give, Jamie, Lisa, William and Chloe x
