Manitoba Korean Dance Group

Manitoba Korean Dance Group is a non-profit organization whose goal is to preserve Korean culture in our manitoba community. Our group runs by committed volunteers whose passionate about teaching and learning Korean culture through traditional Korean dances. Our dancers include not only Korean-Canadian 2nd generations but also multi esthnic Canadians who are interested in Korean culture. They are in age of 5 to 20’s. Some of our dancers who started in kindergarten are now in university, teaching to young performers. We are so proud of how our dancers grow as a team and individually in times.

We have been performing at a big and small events like folklrorama, Moon fest, Mani fest, Manitoba Korean day fest, School events in town, but for the first time ever, fan dance and drum dancers got invited to perform at San Bernardo festival de folklore at Chile next year. This is huge. We are so honored by this invitation. We look at it as a once in a life time opportunity. The organizer in Chile will graciously provide us with hotel stay and accommodations but we have to come up with air fair for performers. We have to transfer our drum sets. We just don’t have that kind of money. So we are asking please help us. We want to take all 14 members. Our fan dance/drum dancers are 13~23 years old. We don’t want to see anyone gets stay behind because of money.
