Save The “Ohio 12” -Wild Kisatchie Mustangs

Donation protected
The wild Kisatchie mustangs are a Louisana treasure that have lived in the Kisatchie National forest for the last 250 years. They are being forcefully captured and removed from their home and land by the army because it happens to be on what is now Fort Polk, a large army training base that occupies hundreds of thousands acres of land. Several rescue groups have saved a fraction of these ponies from an uncertain future and the potential for slaughter but now we need to protect those horses that have been saved. The Ohio 12 is a group of these ponies who have been living in captivity for the last year after being captured and forcefully removed from their home and were sent to Ohio. They were sent their in hopes of a long term sanctuary and protection but that situation is not longer sustainable and they need to return back to Louisiana. Their story is not all that impressive as they as not in a kill pen or headed to slaughter or in immediate danger but they may contain unique and isolated genes that could be lost forever. 12 special horses that if they are lost we cannot replace or saved. Baby Girl Horse Rescue & Veteran Therapy Ranch is dedicated to keeping the very few of these remaining horses safe but in order to do that we need to get them to our Sanctuary location and are seeking funds for transport and vetting. At the request of our veterans, we are honored and blessed to be part of the efforts to protect these unique and treasured ponies.
