1st Marathon(Dunboyne Autism Class)

Hello,

My name is Liam Grant and I live in Dunboyne. In January this year I set myself the challenge of running the 2017 Dublin City marathon. So, true to my word I am currently training to run my 1st Marathon in October. I have been running since February/March and I became a member of the Dunboyne Athletic Club in April. 
Up to this point my longest race has been a half marathon so fingers crossed I’ll get through the real deal in October. 

My son is a pupil in the Dunboyne Junior school and through this I have learned that the school are fundraising for the Autism Class. They are trying to raise much needed funds to help support the day to day life of children with Autism that are attending the school. My wife works in Social Care so I am aware of how important early intervention is and how neccesary it is for these children to get all the support that they need and deserve.

I would like to use this challenge as an opportunity to raise funds for the DUNBOYNE ASD CLASS and to see the funds raised go to good use in my local community.

The Dunboyne ASD Class, located in the Dunboyne Junior School, is now in its 10th year, currently catering for 6 children with autism aged between 4 and 9 years.  Funding for this on-going project is critical so we can maintain and improve the support services and activities we provide for these children.

Any donations big or small will go towards providing necessary equipment and services such as

·         Sensory Equipment    

·         Occupational Therapy Equipment

·         Speech/Language Communication Aids

·         Classroom Furniture
