Lexi's hard work, dedication and sacrifice is beginning to show benefits as she was selected to the East Coast Selects team ('00 & '01 birth years) (http://www.selectssports.com/page/show/707735--00-girls-east-coast-selects-o), which consists of the top 20 ice hockey players from Ontario, CA and US (NJ, NY, PA, CT, and MA).
Lexi has trained (on ice & off ice) for the past 6 years to be one of the top players in the area. Her commitment and dedication has taken her much farther than we imagined. She currently plays for the West Chester Quakers U14 tier 1 team and the Pittsburgh Elite tier 1 U12 team. She has also played for a girl's select team from Ottawa (the only US girl invited to the team) and multiple tier 2 & tier 1 boys ice hockey teams.
The East Coast Selects will represent Canada and the US in multiple international competitions this summer, but the first, and most costly is this April at the World Selects Tournament. It is a 10-day event in Nykoping and Stockholm Sweden where they will play teams from Russia, Finland, Sweden, Italy and the Czech Republic.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Lexi so we're desperately reaching out for financial assistance to offset the travel costs.
