Brandy’s Journey Back To Functioning

This isn’t easy but hey y’all I’m Brandy and last year on 7/29/18 I was on my way to work where I fell asleep, hitting a tree causing a fractured L1 29-30%, my right tibia was shattered which required several surgeries to fix, and my left hand was broken as well. At that time I was a single parent to two working full time and more as a QMHA with adolescents. I was lucky enough to have a friend that helped with my care as I was in a hospital bed in my living room for months. I was also so lucky to find the partner of my dreams during my months of recovery and physics therapy that has been amazing. During my time of recovery and unemployment I also successfully ran for school board and have been doing public service and volunteering when and where I am able. I understandably used all my saving as time went on to pay for housing, clothing, and the like for myself and children. I was finally released for full time work a month ago and found a full time job that pays 12$ an hour and while it’s not much it will do till a better job comes through, I don’t start however until 11/4 so my first paycheck will not be until later that month and my first full paycheck until December. I am doing my best to get back up to where I was before my accident and hopefully further—I have enrolled in school and will be in classes to further myself starting in January. I am hoping to get enough to fix my car, pay bills that have understandably not been important BUT still need to get paid, and getting stuff around my house fixed up after a 16 months of neglect, however any thing towards it all will be appreciated and helpful towards returning back to normal for myself and the children.
